Today John had his Fini-flight at Moody AFB in the T-6. He will continue to fly the T-6 in San Antonio, just not here anymore. The kids and I, along with some co-workers, the few that are left since the unit is practically closed, loaded up in the great big government van and headed out to the flight line. As we rode by all the hangers, it was very sad to see them all empty. There are only 4 planes out of 45 left here. Two of those four leave Friday for their new home in Columbus MS. Anyhoo, John looked as handsome as ever taxiing along in full G-suit attire. Luckily they did not hose him down this time. At his fini-flight in Altus, as soon as his feet hit ground the fire hose was turned loose and John was soaked from head to toe. I found it fitting that his last flight here was completed in a girls airplane. John says it's just a coincidence, but I think Simeon made sure of it!! Before John was able to fully open the cockpit, Hayden had jumped on the wing and into his lap. That kid cannot wait to fly himself. We had a great day, took some great pictures, ate some great pizza, and played some good Foosball!
